SCHOOL BUILDING PROGRAM

​We emphasize students' participation in several school's aspects, especially environmental sustainability.

Who Could Join? 

  • Every student enrolled at The Xanh School.

  • Youth aged from 15-25 who wants to contribute to minimizing plastic impacts.

You can choose to be in one of the two following teams: 

What Will You Do?

​MATERIALS TEAM

Being in the Materials Team means you are the veins of our program! You are in charge of seeking waste materials for the other Construction Team to make products. 

​

- Job Description:

​

  • Organize campaigns, workshops encouraging people to bring their non-biodegradable waste materials including but not limited to: plastic bottles, old books or notebooks, plastic straws, plastic bags, electronic products, tires, etc. It could be anything!

​

  • Go on several environmental clean-up excursions to collect inorganic waste. 

​

  • Connect with the locals and small household businesses to help them categorize trash and collect their non-biodegradable waste.

​

  • Collect ingredients, materials for two other teams. (depending on which products they are going to make: bamboo/rice straws, canvas bags, products made of reused plastic, etc.)

CONSTRUCTION TEAM

That's right, you are our school builders! You will play a fundamental part in constructing eco-friendly furniture and decorations to be used not only at The Xanh School but also at our partner organizations.

Job Description:

​

  • Make eco-bricks from plastic bottles and non-biodegradable waste. Use the bottles as bricks to construct school buildings.

​

  • Use waste collected by the Materials Team to make school products and facilities such as rice straws, chairs made of wheels, lights and pencil cases made of plastic bottles, etc.
